Nifa safecon 2018 region x4/10/2023 ![]() Power Off Landings – 6th Jonah Desrochers, 8th Aly Bond Preflight – 8th Kyle Wang, 20th Austin Green The Buckeyes performed very well for a young team on the road, and even placed highest of all the Region III teams in attendance. I am pleased to announce that of the 28 schools, the OSU Flight Team placed 6th Place Overall National Champs, 4th in Flying Events. It takes everyone to run a team and as head coach, I couldn’t do it without the help of our alumni and coaches. Thanks to Alex Mulac, Emily Coaker, Jason Recht, David Maibaum, Scott van Ooyen, Rob Numbers, Sean Maxwell, Anthony Pentz, Josh Fisher, and Adam Stiffler. Even on the road, we were able to continue our tradition of having an alumni dinner and presentation of the bowling shirts. We welcomed four new team members this year as well: Aly “7700” Bond, Nolan “Goldilocks” Hart, Jack “Flapjack” Lawrie, and Matt “Pepperoni” Chien. Our team continued the tradition of having a good time and also bringing home the hardware. They definitely realize they may be sharing an office of cockpit with other competitors one day. It has encouraged other schools to take our lead. Many of our team members know other school competitors on a first name basis which is very impressive. I am continually impressed to see how our team gets around to meet other schools and are true professionals. The 12 team members, led by co-captains senior Austin Green and junior Jonah Desrochers and coaching staff, had another tremendous competition experience. Your contribution will go a long way in contributing to the success of the team. The OSU Flight Team once again represented the University in Buckeye pride and enthusiasm. The entire Flight Team would like to thank you for your donation. We will fundraise until we leave for competition. The Flight Team will be leaving for competition during the last week of April. We will be spending close to two weeks in Indiana, and your donation will be going toward our travel costs. The Flight Teams covers everything, including registration fees, transportation, and the hotel costs. ![]() It has been a Kansas State University Flight Team tradition that the members that compete only have to pay for meals while at competition. ![]() It is the Flight Teams goal to make going to a competition as cheap as possible.
